Frequently Asked Questions

Who can volunteer?

• Teens between the ages of 12 and 18.
• Teens who pass a background check conducted by the city.
• Teens who complete the application, interview, and training process.

What do volunteers do?

• Set up and clean up programs
• Shelve DVDs
• File obituaries
• Stamp books withdrawn
• Other tasks as assigned

When should I apply?

Processing of applications can take up to four weeks. For this reason the library has established the following deadlines.

Application Deadlines

• Summer March 15
• Fall July 15
• Spring November 1

How do I apply?

To apply, print and complete both of the applications below:

Teen Volunteer Application

City of Leesburg Volunteer Application

The entire application must be completed including: social security number, three personal references with contact information, and parent/guardian signature.

Applications should be submitted in person to the Youth Services desk in the library. Applications are also available for pick-up at the Youth Services desk.
